Shipping & Delivery Policy

Effective Date: 1 October 2026

At Aussie Container, we understand that reliable delivery is an important part of purchasing a shipping container. This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how container deliveries are arranged, what customers need to prepare, and factors that may affect delivery times and costs.

1. Delivery Coverage

Aussie Container provides shipping container solutions to customers across Australia, subject to container availability, transport availability and suitable site access.

Delivery availability and costs can vary depending on:

  • Delivery location;
  • Container size;
  • Container type;
  • Distance from the available container;
  • Transport requirements;
  • Road conditions;
  • Site accessibility;
  • Local restrictions.

Delivery arrangements will be confirmed with the customer before dispatch where applicable.

2. Delivery Quotes

Delivery costs may be calculated based on the specific order and delivery location.

A delivery quotation may take into account:

  • Pickup location;
  • Delivery postcode;
  • Container dimensions and weight;
  • Transport distance;
  • Required delivery equipment;
  • Site access;
  • Special handling requirements.

Where delivery is not included in the advertised container price, the applicable delivery charge will be communicated separately.

3. Delivery Timeframes

Delivery timeframes can vary depending on:

  • Container availability;
  • Customer location;
  • Transport availability;
  • Payment clearance;
  • Weather;
  • Road conditions;
  • Freight scheduling;
  • Site requirements.

Any delivery timeframe provided by Aussie Container should be considered an estimate unless a specific delivery date has been expressly confirmed.

Unexpected circumstances may occasionally cause delays.

4. Preparing Your Delivery Site

Before delivery, customers should ensure that the delivery location is ready and suitable for a shipping container.

Customers should consider:

  • Available space;
  • Road access;
  • Entry and exit points;
  • Overhead clearance;
  • Ground conditions;
  • Gates and fences;
  • Trees and other obstacles;
  • Utility lines;
  • Building structures;
  • Local access restrictions.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the proposed delivery location is suitable for the container and delivery vehicle.

5. Access Requirements

Shipping containers are large and heavy. Delivery vehicles also require sufficient room to safely access and position the container.

Customers should advise us in advance about any potential access issues, including:

  • Narrow roads;
  • Tight driveways;
  • Slopes;
  • Soft or unstable ground;
  • Low overhead clearance;
  • Restricted entrances;
  • Gates;
  • Bridges or weight restrictions;
  • Other obstacles.

Failure to provide accurate site information may result in delivery delays or additional costs.

6. Delivery Equipment

The equipment required to deliver a container may depend on the container size, location and site conditions.

Depending on the circumstances, delivery may require specialised transport or unloading equipment.

The final delivery method will be determined according to the container, delivery location and available transport arrangements.

7. Customer Responsibilities at Delivery

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing the correct delivery address;
  • Providing accurate site information;
  • Ensuring the site is accessible;
  • Obtaining any required property or site permissions;
  • Ensuring the delivery area is reasonably prepared;
  • Informing us of known hazards or restrictions;
  • Being available or arranging an authorised person to receive the delivery where required.

8. Delivery to Residential Properties

Containers may be delivered to residential properties where the location is suitable and accessible for the required delivery equipment.

Customers should confirm that:

  • The property has adequate access;
  • The container can be safely positioned;
  • The ground is suitable;
  • Local restrictions have been considered;
  • Any required approvals or permissions have been obtained.

Aussie Container does not guarantee that every residential property will be suitable for container delivery.

9. Failed or Unsuccessful Deliveries

A delivery may be unsuccessful where:

  • The delivery address is incorrect;
  • Access is insufficient;
  • The site is unsafe;
  • The customer has not prepared the delivery location;
  • The delivery vehicle cannot safely access the site;
  • Required permissions have not been obtained;
  • Unexpected road or site conditions prevent delivery.

Where a delivery cannot be completed because of circumstances within the customer’s control, additional transport or redelivery costs may apply.

Any applicable charges will be discussed with the customer.

10. Delivery Inspection

Customers should inspect the container as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

Where practical, customers should check:

  • Container type and size;
  • General condition;
  • Doors and locking mechanisms;
  • Visible damage;
  • Accessories or agreed modifications.

If you believe there is an issue with the container, contact Aussie Container promptly and provide photographs or other relevant information.

11. Damage During Delivery

If a container appears to have been damaged during transportation or delivery, customers should document the condition as soon as possible.

Photographs should ideally show:

  • The entire container;
  • The affected area;
  • Delivery surroundings;
  • Any visible transport-related damage.

Please contact Aussie Container promptly so the matter can be assessed.

12. Weather and Unforeseen Circumstances

Delivery may be delayed or rescheduled because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather;
  • Flooding;
  • Bushfires;
  • Road closures;
  • Traffic incidents;
  • Transport breakdowns;
  • Government restrictions;
  • Natural disasters;
  • Other unexpected events affecting transportation.

Where reasonably possible, customers will be informed of significant delivery changes.

13. Payment Before Delivery

Depending on the order terms, payment may need to be received and cleared before a container is released for delivery.

Delivery arrangements may not be finalised until:

  • Required payment has cleared;
  • The order has been confirmed;
  • Delivery details have been verified;
  • Transport arrangements have been completed.

Please refer to the Aussie Container Payment Policy for additional information.

14. Delivery Charges

Delivery charges may be separate from the container purchase price unless otherwise stated.

Additional charges may apply where special circumstances require additional transport or handling, including:

  • Failed delivery;
  • Redelivery;
  • Restricted access;
  • Special equipment;
  • Waiting time;
  • Changes to the agreed delivery location;
  • Additional transport requirements.

Any applicable charges should be communicated to the customer where reasonably possible.

15. Changing a Delivery Address

Customers should contact Aussie Container as soon as possible if they need to change the delivery address.

Changing the delivery location may affect:

  • Delivery costs;
  • Transport arrangements;
  • Delivery timeframe;
  • Container availability;
  • Site suitability.

A delivery address should not be changed directly with a driver without prior confirmation from Aussie Container.

16. Delivery of Multiple Containers

For orders involving multiple containers, deliveries may be completed:

  • At the same time; or
  • In separate deliveries.

The delivery schedule will depend on container availability, transport capacity and site requirements.

17. Special Delivery Requirements

Customers should notify us before delivery if their site requires special arrangements.

Examples include:

  • Restricted-access locations;
  • Construction sites;
  • Commercial premises;
  • Rural properties;
  • Large-volume container orders;
  • Specific positioning requirements.

Additional charges may apply depending on the requirements.

18. Local Approvals and Permissions

Customers are responsible for determining whether they require any local council, property-owner, strata, planning or other approvals before placing a container on their property.

Aussie Container does not provide legal, planning or council approval advice.

Customers should obtain independent advice where necessary.

19. Delivery Confirmation

Once delivery arrangements have been confirmed, customers should ensure that the relevant contact person is available or otherwise authorised to assist with delivery where required.

Delivery may be considered completed once the container has been safely positioned at the agreed delivery location.
